Works have begun on the alterations to Lonsdale House in Bellerby near Leyburn, North Yorkshire. Wardmans Architectural Services were appointed in December 2013 to gain planning approval and building regulations approval for alterations to the ground floor kitchen and utility. The works include removal of the existing kitchen, utility and W.C. along with the removal of the existing roof over the single storey outbuilding to the Utility. The roof will be replaced with new rafters, insulation and tiles while incorporating 3 new roof lights to bring natural daylight into the existing outbuilding. The design of the new Kitchen and Utility allowed for a total reconfiguration thus maximising the potential of the space allowing for a new ground floor shower room to be included. The new modernised Kitchen and Utility will provide a better utilised spaced for the whole family and the added insulation along with changing the existing oil fired boiler to gas fired will help reduce the families energy bills and help reduce carbon emissions into the environment. The project is estimated to be completed by September 2014.
