After many issues raised by the National Park, we have been granted approval for a single storey Kitchen extension to The Chapel, Hudswell. Due to the fact the history of this converted Chapel, the National Park raised issues regarding window sizes and the number of roof lights which formed part of the application. After working closely with the Client and the National Park a compromise was reached in order to gain approval and provide an extension that provided a scheme suitable for the occupants without affecting the appearance of this historic building.
The proposal was for a single storey side extension to provide much needed additional floor space to the Kitchen / Dining Room and to include for a ground floor W.C. The client in particular requested two roof lights positioned over the Kitchen area within the new extension to provide much needed natural light. After many discussions with the National Park, planning permission was Granted and now the client has instructed us to proceed to obtain Building Regulations Approval.
