We were employed by IntraHealth to design and plan a new extension to the existing Medical Centre in Ferryhill to include an improved Reception and Staff area, new Pharmacy with Managers Office, Consultation Rooms, Stock Room, Disabled WC, and First Floor Meeting Room / Conference Suite.

The existing building was single storey, and the new extension having to be in keeping, the new pharmacy was designed on the ground floor with the conference suite designed to be within the roof space. Large roof windows providing natural light and ventilation within this area. The roof space is accessed via a protected stairwell for fire safety.

The ground floor Pharmacy needed to be carefully designed to ensure adequate space and storage was provded for the large amounts of medicines and stock to be held on site, while also ensuring the space was user friendly and convenient for the staff, and laid out well for members of the public using the pharmacy.

Our services included obtaining Planning Permission, Building Regulations Approval and providing working drawings for the Contractor.  The end result Intrahealth are extremely happy with and is now open for business, improving the facilities for patients at West Cornforth Medical Centre.
